On a somewhat less ominous note, it's Christmas Eve! I fucking love Christmas like the true twelve year old I am. It's a sunny 65*F in Los Angeles, gifts ripe for the opening. Never mind the part where I'm still slaving diligently over things for friends. By my calculations, I'm 78% done with gift-formulating and wrapping. But I guess we're trading presents tonight, so that gives me less than zero time to finish everything. AND JUST GUESS WHAT I'M DOING INSTEAD.

Things have been out of control recently, some of it spilling over into the fandom where I, in a fit of destructive fury, deleted every last goddamn thing. To anyone I've offended or deprived or let down, to those of you I haven't but you still hate my guts anyway: my very deepest apologies. It is for these reasons, and for Zheyne, that I'm giving this to the fandom this Christmas: versacefrolic.

Everything is there, even the things no one has ever read: How to Disappear Completely, A Lesser Beauty, Fortunate Son, some pretty horrific KHR! fic, all the one-shots and giftfic I've embarrassed anyone with, drabbles from the 117days reject pile, and some brand new things I finished up in time for the holidays. It's all there for you if you want it, but will just as easily collect dust and be obnoxious even if you don't. For those of you that want all the fic but none of the bullshit, feel free to un-add me here, no hard feelings, I promise. Signal boosting: Missing teen in Chicago area FOUND! :D

I wasn't a fan of Brittany Murphy (didn't dislike her either, just neutral), but her sudden death has me freaked out, since we are/were the same age. Granted, she had a much more demanding and stressful life, but...

On the way home from Brett's show last night, I kept wondering: My time here is limited. Am I using it well? Is it right to dedicate this much time to telling stories and drawing pictures? There's no objective, rational way to pass judgment on that. Life, why you gotta be unpredictable?

After SEVEN WEEKS, the Chapter 20 art is finally done. Granted, there was an out-of-state trip and some tl;dr bad shit mixed into that timeslot, but that's still too long. I think I might be able to make up for it during the vacation which starts tomorrow woooo

20 was a pretty tough chapter, both art- and dialogue-wise. For starters, they're inside a diner with walls covered in junk. TJ's finally feeling comfortable enough to open up a bit (and is talking about shit I had to do a bunch of research on). while Amal's trying to relax but he's got "please don't say anything that'll out us because I am not really at ease in this place" in the back of his mind. Oh yeah, and there's more turn-of-the-century architecture, with bonus decay added. Augghh.
I still gotta fix the perspective in a few places.

Still trying to think up something to post to the <Epic site for Christmas. Only idea so far has a punchline that hinges on a rap song from about 1993 that is 1. obscure and 2. obscure for a good reason, sssoooo yeah not so much.

Gotta go to the doctor tomorrow since lol mango allergy = need drugs. Am dead on benadryl to keep my throat from swelling too much. GOOD TIMES. I just want to sleep forever. So tired of working. ;n;

01. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
I painted for the first time in my life (why didn't they make me do it in high school? I do not know). Also... cut class for the first time ever. ItwasworthitOTL

02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I even made resolutions. And if I make one this year it would probably be something silly like "try to use less emoticons".

03. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nnnnope

05. What countries did you visit? I stayed right. here. My mom went to Germany though. :(

06. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? Time. This last semester especially, my long commute to school and the long long classes started to wear on me greatly. In January I'm moving into a dorm, so hopefully that means I'll have more time for homework/sleep/friends.

07. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? I am completely time-retarded, so dates do not factor into any of my memory mechanics. But I can remember events!

08. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I got 4 (... was it 4?) works of mine from last semester into the Spring Show at my school. Nothing came of it, but it was cool to know that a freshman anime nerd could actually get something into an important event like that. Also, created a whole new set of characters and a story. XD;

09. What was your biggest failure? Letting many tiny failures accumulate on me and keep me from functioning properly under pressure.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? No, actually. I think I've only gotten one cold in the past two years.

11. What was the best thing you bought? I'm thinking... Corel Painter 11. I just got it recently, and it's growing on me rapidly.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My dad; he started up his own company with some former coworkers and has been working very hard with little/no steady pay to help get this thing started. He's making software to help math teachers teach fractions in elementary school, something most elementary teachers need especially in this crappy state. So far it's going very well. :)

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Maybe not appalled but... a certain friend of mine has been drifting slowly farther and farther away from me. I try not to think about it if I don't have to, but I get very depressed and bitter when I do.

14. Where did most of your money go? I can't exactly spend what I don't earn in the first place. >w>;; At this point, my parents give me pocket cash for school, so I'd say... food. lol.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Assassin's Creed 2's release. I finished it in two days, I was so hooked.

One of One Piece's animation director, Naoki Tate, seems responsible for a lot of One Piece TV anime more amazing and memorable complex action sequence. He was also heavily involved in One Piece 9th movie's character design and animation and also worked on the Summer Wars movie, and his style resembles that of Hosoda's work of simplicity and lots of dynamic action. I think for the most part, all the episodes he worked on were my favorite because it felt cinematic and also reason why One Piece anime is worth watching because they have talents such as Tate working on it.

You may have noticed I mentioned an artbook I contributed to in passing a few times. It is now for sale.

The assignment was that we each created our own story and then had our story switched with other classmate randomly. So we became director of our film and animatior to another classmates' film. This story was a collab between me and the director since his story didn't get the instructors approval.

It was actually fun animating a creature and playing with the overlap of the ears :)
